I was just about to finish my last phonics class of the day today and was thinking how well things had gone. I only have 3 students in that particular class and they have been progressing extremely quickly learning how to read. But.....they still nearly every class period try to speak to me in corean at one point or another. It would bother me a little, but they are such good kids. I'm usually a little more leniant with them than a lot of my other students. So, at the end of class, as I was just about to let them go, one of them turns to me and points behind me while saying something in corean. Naturally, I turned around to see what he was talking about. He burst out laughing and couldn't have said anything other than the corean version of "madja look". I couldn't help but laugh too. Apparently it's not just an American thing for kids to do...
